The Successful Mindset

Happiness is Transient Alright ; but it sure makes the evening most pleasant - even for a couple of hours

Some days I am "in the zone". When I am "in the zone ", I really am able to focus and make the most of logic, deduction, elimination and some experienced guess work as to where to put certain numbers based on a 50 / 50 probability chance that I would get it right. Well tonight, I have 'gotten lucky' and the 50 / 50 chance of putting the number "7" on the mid square bottom left corner turned out to be the 'ace in the hole'

So I am really happy for this small victory. It doesn't mean a thing to anybody else than to me, as I realise that my cognitive and deductive capabilities are still there.

Tomorrow will be another day, and I will have to be ready for the challenges of the day and the week ahead.

28 Feb 2021 7 km Night Run at East Coast Parkway ; Great Pacing

I am Very happy to report that my recent Sunday night run at ECP yielded a great result. My average speed was 6.36 min / km which is a very fast pace for a person my age.

My maximum pace was 5 minutes 40 secs or so and I am so pleased with my performance I had to write this blog to remind myself that I am already 58 years old (or young whichever way you want to look at it).

Savor Your Victories Quietly

One thing I have learnt in life, late perhaps but never too late. Savour my victories, enjoy the moment, do it with a certain style or panache. Never over the top or proving to people how difficult it was, or how great it is to stand there looking like a buffoon, but just doing it and relishing the moment - quietly. Yes, take some shots for posterity, but in all reality, do you ever go back and see your holiday pix, wedding pix or earlier stuff ?

90% of my readers would sheepishly say to themselves  "No".

I know many people want the "look at me, how wonderful life I have" to show to the whole world how fabulous their life is. If you stop and think about it, when you are out savouring the view say from a mountaintop, why not just take it all in ? There are millions who have "been there and done that' way before you. So how great are you at taking that selfie with the gorgeous mountain view in the background ?

What you would actually do, is to create envy amongst those who have not been there.

And the point is that, you would actually be so engrossed taking the perfect picture to enjoy or savor the moment.

Now, that would be truly pathetic wouldn't it ?
